We love our last minute families,  so onsite registration for Camp Rec School’s Out will be held Tuesday, May 29th from 6:50am-9:00am at the Registration Table in the lobby of the Pennington Student Activity Center. It’s never too late at Camp Rec!

Here’s a little more information for you and we look forward to seeing you!

What do I do on the first day? Walk your child into the lobby of the Pennington Student Activity Center and sign him/her in at the Camp Rec registration table. Sign in and sign out takes place at this table. The registration table will have a copy of all of the information you will need for the week.

Who can attend Camp Rec? Any child between the ages of 5 years old and 12 years old

Where is Camp Rec held? At the Pennington Student Activity Center, located on the corner of General Pershing and University Ave. on SLU’s campus.

What are Camp Rec’s hours? The camp will start daily at 9:00am and will end promptly at 3:00pm.  We offer however early drop off and pick up on Mon-Thurs (only).  The earliest drop off time is 6:50am and and the latest pick up time is 5:45pm. Camp Rec takes into account Southeastern’s faculty/staff summer work schedule.

What is included in Camp Rec? Each day your child will engage in different physical activities, games, arts and crafts and trivia fun with all of the campers in their age group.  Your child will be provided with breakfast, lunch and snack daily.

What is on the food menu? A detailed menu is provided to campers upon registration. A Parents can always send additional meal or snack in a container clearly labelled with the child’s name on it.

What should my child wear? You child should wear clothes that they are able to be active in, including tennis shoes. With the exception of water day, all children will need wear their active clothes.

Who Supervises Camp Rec? Recreational Sports and Wellness’ Camp Rec Professional Staff are: Dollie Hebert-Crouch, RSW Director; Amy Oberschmidt, M.Ed., LPC,  Asst. Director of Guest Services; and Chad Pendarvis, Asst. Director, Intramurals and Special Programs. The Recreational Sports and Wellness student staff are the Camp Rec Counselors.  Each staff member is certified in CPR and First Aid for the safe protection of your children. Camp Rec is designed for youth to have a safe and fun experience!

Parents tell us that they prefer Camp Recs for the following reasons:  Level of training and certification of the student staff counselors, availability of Rec Camp Professional Staff, affordability, all-inclusiveness, the ease of pick up and drop off as well as extended hours, camp as a safe and supportive environment, communication during the session, the registration process and the socialization opportunities for their children.

You can register at the Student Activity Center Membership Desk between 8am and 5pm Monday-Thursday. Our Membership Assistants are able to email or fax to you registration forms and take payment by phone for your convenience.
